Welcome to my website. My name is Lee Einer. I am a Lapidary and metalsmith. I am the creator of the jewelry which you see here. I chose the business name, "Dos Manos"  (Spanish for "two hands") because everything that you see here is made with  my own two hands. I do all of the metalsmithing, and cut most of the stones myself. Any piece with a stone cut by another artist will have this noted in the description.

Please bookmark this page and visit often. I hope to have new pieces added on a weekly basis.

Please note- If you like any of the items which have already been sold, feel free to e-mail me- I will let you know if I have the materials for a similar piece, and what the cost would be.

Covellite sterling silver handmade art jewelry pendant
This star of this pendant is a beautiful piece of covellite. Metallic midnight blue, with webs and veils of golden pyrite, the stone is fantastic, and the pendant is truly an eyecatcher. The back is also decorated, an added pleasure which the wearer will appreciate even if nobody else sees it.

The bail is large, just the right size to accomodate a stylish mesh chain or rubber cord.

Mary Ellen stromatolite sterling silver art jewelry pin
This pin showcases an exceptional piece of Mary Ellen stromatolite. Stromatolite is a fossilized algae and is one of the earth's oldest fossils, estimated at one to three billion years old. The Mary Ellen stromatolite (from the Mary Ellen Mine in Minnesota) is notable for the algae presenting in a matrix of hematite.

The pin is fabricated from sterling silver, inlaid with copper and textured with fabric. The red-brown of the copper complements the blood-red eyes of the stromatolite in a manner reminiscent of some Japanese work. It is truly a one-of-a-kind setting for a most unusual stone.

Turquoise and sterling silver handmade pendant

poppy jasper pendant handmade sterling silver

tigereye handmade sterling silver pendant

The stone is African tigereye. It is an unusual stone, banded with a candy-stripe pattern of yellow tigereye, red tigereye, and hematite. The bail is fabricated from half-round sterling silver wire, and is on the back, so as not to distract from the clean lines of this pendant.

yowah opal crystal sterling silver art jewelry pendant.

Yikes! This stone is a yowah nut with a center of crystal opal. This is not trick photography- the precious opal looks like you can see deep down into it. The setting is unique, something I call "prong setting the hard way." I made a bezel of heavy guage sterling silver, and then carved 50 or so individual prongs and prong-set the stone. The final effect is very unusual, very organic. Reminiscent in some respects of the necroplasmic armor worn by the comic book anti-hero, Spawn.

The pendant measures approximately 31mm by 31mm.

Patagonia Arizona Agate Handmade Sterling Silver Pendant
The stone is an unusual agate which I rockhounded from a site near Patagonia, Arizona. The site is not known for agate, and I have never seen this material offered before. I therefore declare myself the discoverer of this material, and name it  Patagonia Graffiti Agate for it's unusual squiggly patterns.

The  pendant is handmade from sterling silver. The design element  was forged from a length of silver wire.  The marks of the forging were left in to add texture and interest to the piece.

The pendant measures approximately 65mm tall by 28mm wide.

Crazy lace agate sterling and copper bracelet
The stone in this bracelet is a crazy lace agate cut by Gerry Galarneau, a Sunnyslope, Arizona lapidary. The various elements of this bracelet are  an homage to some things I love about the Sonoran desert. The copper and silver pieces with the moire-type pattern are mokume-gane (purchased in sheet form from Reactive Metal Studios,) and are intended to represent fortification agates. The Sterling silver pieces with the embossed patterns represent Native American pottery shards. The sterling silver pieces with the copper inlaid designs represent petroglyphs. And the roughly textured, bubbly pieces at the ends are torch textured, and intended to represent rough stones.

Sterling silver psilomelane art jewelry pendant The stone is psilomelane, cut by me. The mounting is sterling silver. This unusual material has the metallic luster of hematite, with the psychedelic, moire patterns of malachite. There is a naturally occuring, hairline fissure several milimeters long, on the left side of the stone. This is barely noticeable and does not detract from the beauty of the piece.  The pendant is sterling silver,  hand fabricated, with a textured back.

The stone is approximately 35mm wide by 42mm high.

Perkinsville agate sterling silver art jewelry pendant
The stone is an unusual and beautiful Perkinsville agate  rockhounded, cut and polished by me. The stone features a black pattern  resembling  chain lightning, surrounded by  orange, white and yellow clouds. The overall impression and mood of the stone is that of  a summer storm.

The is hand-fabricated from sterling silver. The texture on the silver was roller-embossed. This was a commissioned piece for a customer who really liked the stone, which is also displayed on my Arizona Agates Page.

    Fire agate mokume gane ring
The stone in this ring is an unusual fire agate, with a bubble of green iridescence centered in clear, red-brown chalcedony. The identity of the cutter is unknown. fire agate fortification sterling amulet pendant
This amuletic pendant features two stones- the top one is a Mexican fire agate cut by a gentleman in Benson, Arizona. The bottom stone is a white-on-white fortification agate from the Fourth of July Butte area of Arizona, rockhounded and cut by me. The stones are set in  sterling silver. The bail is on the back, and is invisible when the pendant is worn.

The top stone resembles a face with two green eyes. The feeling of this piece is other-worldly but benign.

SOLD!

bostwana agate shadow sterling silver art jewelry pendant

This truly phenomenal stone was cut by Phoenix, Arizona Lapidary Gerry Galarneau. The stone is a stellar example of Botswana agate. The colors are grey, fading to white, with a pink center. This stone displays the rare phenomenon known as "shadowing" usually seen in Lake Superior agates and Mexican Agates. The pink, spectral image surrounded by the white, shadowy aura for some reason reminds me of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

The setting is Sterling silver, minimal and tasteful so as not to distract from the stone. The bail is mounted on the back of the pendant/slider, and is invisible when worn. the back of the pendant is textured.

This pendant measures approximately 35mm tall by 20mm wide.

SOLD!

handmade blue opal sterling silver pendant

This matrix opal is vivid blue on the left side, with high polish, and the right side is earthtone matrix with a matte polish. A beautiful contrast,  and a striking, unusual stone. To accentuate the contrast between the left and right sides of the stone, I left the right side plain and gave it a high polish, but roller-textured the left side with Japanese handmade paper. The bail is fabricated from half-round wire and is on the back so as not to distract from the clean lines of the piece.

This pendant measures approximately 43mm by 31mm.

SOLD!

Handmade sterling silver chrysacolla pendant
