Welcome to my website. My name is Lee Einer. I am a Lapidary
and
metalsmith. I am the creator of the jewelry which you see here. I chose
the business name, "Dos Manos" (Spanish for "two hands")
because
everything that you see here is made with my own two hands. I
do
all of the metalsmithing, and cut most of the stones myself. Any piece
with a stone cut by another artist will have this noted in the
description.
Please bookmark this page and visit often. I hope to have new pieces
added on a weekly basis.
The items which you see
on this website are
unique- there is only one of each available. If you like any of the
items which have already been sold, feel free to
e-mail
me- I will
let you know if I have the materials for a similar piece, and the
expected cost.
Chocolate
lovers, beware!
The stone is a Yowah Opal, in tones of dark and milk chocolate, with
multicolored
fire. You can just see hints of the play of color in this photo. Yummy!
The setting is hand-fabricated from 18K and 22K gold. The bezel is 22K,
the
bail is 18K red gold, and the back is textured, 18K gold depletion
gilded
to 24K. It is a pretty little pendant. It measures 8mm by 30 mm.
The
Stone
is variscite, a
relatively uncommon stone of the southwest US, prized
for its wonderful green color, and for its lustre, which is similar to
that of turquoise. This stone shades from apple green to pistachio
green,
and looks good enough to eat.
The setting is sterling silver, hand fabricated, with a lizard-skin
texture
on the back as another nod to the southwest. The piece measures 39mm by
10mm.
Price- $115.00 plus shipping. Chain not included.
The
Stone is a matrix opal, believed to be from Yowah, Australia. It has
deep green and teal fires.
The setting is sterling silver. and one of a kind. The tail of the
piece was
created by cuttlefish casting, and the pendant was assembled using
fabrication techniques. I wanted to make a pendant that
looked
alive, and possibly
dangerous- like it might crawl up your shirt and bite you on the neck.
Price: $325.00 plus shipping. Chain not included.
The
Stone is a beautiful psilomelane, with alternate bands of black and
metallic
grey. The setting is one-of-a-kind, handmade of sterling silver. The
triangular
design element was cast using a cuttlefish bone, which transferred its
irregular,
banded pattern to the silver.
The element below both mirrors and contrasts the psilomelane above,
making for a striking, contemporary design.
The pendant measures approximately 51mm by 40 mm.
Price- $295. Chain not included.
The stone is a bark section of Arizona petrified
wood,
with a
zigzag pattern of red and black on an off-white backrground. There are
several pits, all in a line, within the red zigzag that give additional
character to this unusual stone. The pendant is sterling silver. The
front was textured with rough sandpaper, which shows off the whiteness
of the silver.
The pendant measures approximately 26 mm wide by 38mm tall.
Price- $85.00 plus shipping. Chain not included.
This belt buckle features an absolutely
beautiful piece
of dryhead agate. The finding will accomodate a belt up to 1" wide.
Perfect either for a lady's belt buckle or for a man's dress belt. The
back is roller-embossed with a scene of desert hills with saguaro. Even
the finding of this belt buckle is sterling silver, handmade by myself.
The buckle measures approximately 46mm wide by 30 mm tall.
Price- $215.00.
This is a simple rhodochrosite pendant. The bail
is
mounted on
the back. The back is roller-embossed with a scene of mountains, moon,
stars and saguaro.
The pendant measures approximately 22mm wide by 31 mm tall.
Price- $85.00 plus shipping.
The stones in this pendant are Mexican fire agate
and
yowah
opal. I cut the yowah opal- the cutter of the fire agate is unknown.
This picture does not do the yowah opal justice- it is a woody brown
with flashes of green fire which come and go as the stone moves in the
light. The fire opal is bright, orange-bronze and green. The
"arms" on this piece were hand-forged, and the marks of forging were
left to give additional character to the piece. The arms are polished
with a brass-brush finish, the back of the piece is textured, and the
remainder was given a high polish with tripoli and green rouge.
This pendant measures approximately 47mm long by 30mm wide.
Price- $250 plus shipping. Chain not included.
This is a whopper of a yowah picture opal. The
pattern
of the
common opal in the nut-brown matrix at first makes this appear almost
like a piece of wood (with a high polish,) but then the admirer notices
the many subtle sparkes of fire in the stone. A tasty, one-of-a-kind
piece for those who love Yowah opal.
The mounting is sterling silver, the back of the piece is textured, and
the bail is hidden. This
pendant measures approximately 26mm wide by 42mm tall.
Price- $125.00 plus shipping. Choker not included.
The stone is a beautiful example of Dryhead agate.
The
bail of
this piece was hand-forged and shaped for a modern, sculpted
appearance. The pendant measures approximately 45mm x 15mm.
